Strengthening Leadership of Local and National Actors in Humanitarian Coordination: Practical Case Studies

Overview

The Localization Agenda conceptualized initially by the Grand Bargain in 2016, recognizes the need to have equitable opportunities for Local and National Actors (LNAs) including Women Led Organizations (WLOs), Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) and other diversity groups to play leadership roles at national and sub-national levels clusters / Areas of Responsibilities (AoRs), and have a seat at the table when strategic decisions are made (for example, in Strategic Advisory Groups (SAGs) or technical working groups (TWiGs)). This practical guide aims to highlight practical examples from humanitarian clusterson how they have promoted LNAs leadership to inspire other clusters/AoRs to do the same in line with the IASC guide.
