Overview
Between 1-31 December 2023, in Gaza, more than 20,000 individuals were treated for injuries, with almost 7,500 surgical interventions since the war began. Medical missions delivered supplies to hospitals in northern governorates, and 120 temporary medical points served over 431,000 primary healthcare consultations. Eight SRH kits were distributed, physiotherapy services were activated at specific hospitals, and 1,375 people received multidisciplinary rehabilitation care. MHPSS services benefited at least 2,000 people, 3,400 hygiene kits were distributed, and 10 IEHK with supplies for 100,000 people were provided. Health worker deployment initiatives involved 98 workers in December, with plans for an additional 102 in January and 300 in March 2024. The Health Cluster coordinated with Food Security Sector partners to offer patients and hospital staff meals. In the West Bank, during the same period, over 800 individuals received treatment, 18 mobile teams provided primary healthcare across 124 communities in Area C, and partners supported the management of casualties in areas affected by military operations and settler violence. Emergency response supplies were provided to fifteen hospitals and seven designated emergency care centres, benefiting 57 individuals with multidisciplinary rehabilitation care and 400 with MHPSS services.
