Description

This scorecard is used to measure the quality of clinical care in the area of family planning/post- abortion care. The tool utilizes the quality measurements in the following categories:

  1. Is it safe?

  2. Is it effective?

  3. Is it caring?

  4. Is it responsive?

  5. Is it well-led?

It utilizes a basic scoring technique that gives an overall score and ultimately allows facilities to identify areas for improvement. When the rating is made in the specific categories, the assessment score is automatically calculated for the user, making this assessment tool easy to use.

High: The observations require an assessor with a high level of technical knowledge in the area of family planning and post-abortion care. Medical staff required (nurse, midwife, doctor).
