Health Cluster annual report 2021

Overview

Health Clusters exist to relieve suffering and save lives in humanitarian emergencies, while advancing the well-being and dignity of affected populations.

At the country level, the cluster serves as a mechanism for partners to harmonize efforts and use available resources efficiently within the framework of agreed objectives, priorities and strategies, for the benefit of the affected populations. In 2021, there were 31 Health Clusters and Sectors, of which two were regional coordination mechanisms, that targeted 83.2 million people.

The Health Cluster efforts are focused on addressing critical gaps in the humanitarian response through a coordinated and multisectoral approach that involves national and international partners. An estimated 700 national and 200 international partners work collectively to implement a localized cluster response at the country level, including 60 partners that engage strategically at the global level.
