Nurturing care is what children need to survive and thrive. Health systems and services implement policies and interventions that support caregivers in providing nurturing care. The Global Health Cluster seeks to better integrate the Nurturing Care Framework actions into health cluster responses, building on existing services and delivery platforms that already reach young children, caregivers, and families.
The GHC is partnering with the Child Health in Emergencies and Humanitarian Settings (CHiHES) subgroup under the Child Health Task Force (CHTF) and the Early Childhood Development Working Group of the Inter-agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE) to support these interventions. Jointly, they are organizing a webinar series focused on sharing evidence-based evidence on implementing equitable, all-inclusive, and integrated programs. These programs aim to improve outcomes for young children affected by humanitarian crises.
This webinar series provides health cluster coordinators with the opportunity to:
- Improve their understanding of the holistic needs of young children affected by humanitarian crises;
- Understand the characteristics of a quality response that is responsive and sensitive, integrating nurturing care approaches that holistically support the healthy growth and development of children in emergencies.
