The third annual Health Cluster Forum was held on 3-5 April 2017 in Montreux, Switzerland, prior to the GHC Partner Meeting, Strategic Advisory Group and other Task Team meetings, held on 6-8 April 2017. 17 Health Clusters participated from five WHO regions, as well as staff from WHO regional offices and headquarters, Strategic Advisory Group members, partners that have a co-coordination role in two Health Clusters and the Global Health Cluster Unit.
The overall purpose was to improve the Global Health Cluster capacity building efforts in cluster coordination and leadership, address challenges and areas of concern as selected by participating Health Cluster Coordinators, and to document good practices.
Outcomes of the Health Cluster Forum included:
- Strengthen relations and networks among Health Cluster Coordinators.
- Document lessons learnt.
- Provide recommendations to guide the work to continue strengthening coordination and improve the health sector humanitarian response.
