Ending Sexual and Gender-based Violence in Humanitarian Crises, Oslo

The GBV advisor for emergencies attended the first conference on ending sexual and gender-based violence in humanitarian crises co-hosted by Norway, Iraq, Somalia, the United Arab Emirates, UNOCHA, UNFPA and the ICRC. On behalf on the WHO, the GBV advisor committed to enhancing accountability within the health sector to ensure women receive the lifesaving assistance they deserve. Over this 2-days long conference, GBV survivors and specialists, members of 167 national and 76 international civil society organizations, representatives from 100 states, global leaders, national and international organizations generated ideas and made commitments to better address GBV.
